Another week…

Posted: July 24, 2011 in Uncategorized

So, I’m getting ready to head off for another week of camp…4-6 graders at Camp Rudolph. I have a few random videos from different performances at the last week of camp I never got up online, so I wanted to leave you guys this week with some fun videos to watch while I’m gone! Also, for all two of you that read it…Way-Back Wednesday is supposed to be this week, but with me at camp with no internet I’m going to have to push it back a week. So lucky you!…you’ll get two weeks in a row of it and then back on the regular schedule! Enjoy the videos!

STOMP!

Cool Video

So I was using SumbleUpon last night and I came across this video that I really liked. I don’t know who made it or anything like that, but I know that it struck a chord in me and I wanted to share it. I decided today to start sharing it on my blog and then I’ll go from there. Hope you enjoy it!

Ok…so I’ve been doing a TERRIBLE job at keeping up with this series, and for that I apologize. I was gone one week at camp and couldn’t post anything, so I decided LAST week that I was going to just post on a bi-weekly basis. I kept telling myself all week “this is the week for Way Back Wednesday Tyler, don’t forget.” And what did I do?….forgot. Even at our staff meeting yesterday I reminded myself “you need to post when you get home.”……fail. I promise to try very hard to remember these things from now on. And for those of you who don’t like them, keep your head up because statistics show that I’ll forget to post anyway, so you won’t have to deal with them!

So far we’ve talked about Teddy Ruxpin and Fun Dip. This week I want to venture over to the music side of things. Don’t ask me why, but when I was thinking of old music that had a big influence on a LOT of people…one specific song popped into my head.

THE MACARENA!

Now don’t even TRY to pretend that you never danced to this one because you know that you did. This song originally appeared in 1994 and is now 17 YEARS OLD!! I was 8 years old when this thing first came out and probably in the 3rd grade (depending on what part of the year the song came out). Can you imagine little 8-year-old Tyler shakin his hips?…cuz I can. I remember very clearly doing this dance along with many of my classmates and others, so be careful about denying because you might have been one of them. I also remember trying to sing along with the song, mumbling the lyrics “ljjkajkf Macarena aslkajkjf…sdlfaksjfl HEEEEY MACARENA!”

Whether you have good or bad memories of this song, you CAN’T deny the hold it had over the music world for so long, and still a little to this day. As I was looking for the original video, I ran into SEVERAL more modern remakes of the song. Who knows, it MIGHT just make a comeback some day!

Until next time…God bless!
